About the area: The Colwood area offers a variety of recreational pursuits. The existing Juan de Fuca Recreation Centre is considered one of the most complete sport complexes in the province and includes a brand new pool. For the golf enthusiast, there are three highly rated courses - the Royal Colwood Golf Course, Olympic View Golf Course and Bear Mountain in Langford. The Lagoon area offers a nature reserve and a beach for tanning, swimming, wind surfing, sailing or just walking. Parks and trails feature views of downtown Victoria and the Strait of Juan de Fuca as far as the U.S. coastline.
Colwood is a city with an exciting future. With a population of 15,000, Colwood has a wide range of recreational amenities, services and shopping. In a few years, several new residential, recreational, and commercial developments will take shape. New infrastructure (sewers, roads and other services) is being added to support these developments. |
